Emma Kiver

Call: 2015

Emma has a broad civil and commercial practice, with a focus on contractual disputes and contentious insolvency.

Emma regularly appears as sole counsel at first instance in the Business and Property Courts and County Courts. She also undertakes a range of led work. Due to her background, Emma is especially good at viewing litigation from the perspectives of clients and solicitors and understanding all the practical challenges involved. Emma prides herself on being a team-player, who works extremely hard and maintains a strong focus on achieving the client’s objectives.

To every matter, Emma applies a decade of commercial litigation experience, having previously worked on complex, high-value and multi-jurisdictional matters while at Kobre & Kim and Quinn Emanuel. As a Legal Analyst at Kobre & Kim, she worked alongside English- and U.S.-qualified lawyers on matters in a variety of practice areas, including commercial litigation, civil fraud, international judgment enforcement, asset recovery and white collar crime. Such matters involved multi-week trials in disputes involving companies and banks in the Chancery and then-Queen’s Bench Divisions.

Before being called to the Bar, Emma graduated with a degree in English Law (L.L.B.) from Queen Mary’s School of Law, University of London, having achieved the highest exam mark in Commercial Law. As part of her degree, she read French Law at the University of Panthéon-Assas, Paris. She then completed the BPTC at the University of London, Bloomsbury.

Emma is qualified to accept instructions from professional clients under the Direct Public Access scheme.
