Community Open Week 2025
Celebrating trees at Kew from 14 to 18 May

Join us for our sixth Community Open Week at Kew! Explore the Gardens free of charge, and learn about our exciting science and conservation work, through engaging, hands-on activities.
Connect with nature, enhance your wellbeing and learn more about trees.
You’ll have the opportunity to meet Kew scientists and horticulturists, engage with artists and take part in a fantastic range of participatory workshops, talks and games suitable for all ages and abilities.
Programme

Wednesday 14 May
Learn about how trees work, weave your own woodland landscape, and participate in a variety of other fun activities.

Thursday 15 May
Join interactive sessions in the Gardens at your own pace on our designated Relaxed Day, including British Sign Language tours, sensory tours, and more.

Friday 16 May
Get your feet moving to sounds inspired by trees, learn about amazing plants of the Caribbean, and join in a range of other engaging activities for all ages.

Saturday 17 May
Make your own seed balls, hear from Kew horticulturists, and enjoy tree-inspired crafts for families.

Sunday 18 May
Create your own tree of life, learn about trees that heal, and join in celebrating our 2025 closing day!

Who can attend?
This event is designed for people who face barriers to visiting Kew. It is open to community groups that are new to Kew Gardens, as well as our existing Community Access Scheme members. For more information about the groups we work with, please refer to the Community Access Scheme at Kew Gardens page.
Groups of any size are welcome to explore the Gardens, but please note that all activities are subject to availability on the day. Large groups may not be able to participate in the same activity at the same time.
Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
The event is not aimed at school groups or Kew members.
Price
Entry to the Gardens and all Community Open Week activities are free of charge to participants. This will not affect your Community Access Scheme (CAS) ticket allocation if you are a Kew CAS member.
