BIO

I have worked at the IOE since 2010, and served as Director of the Academic Writing Centre 2010-2020, and Head of Department of Culture, Communication and Media 2014-2018.

I am a recipient of a Leverhulme Major Research Fellowship (MRF-2020-35 Sept 2021 - Jun 2025), focusing on 'The Datafied University: Documentation and Performativity in Digitised Education'. I publish on questions relating to science and technology studies in education, posthuman theory, sociomaterialism, digital engagement, textual practices, and postphenomenology.

My new monograph 'The University and the Algorithmic Gaze' has recently been published fully open-access by Bloomsbury Academic. I am currently engaged as editor-in-chief of the forthcoming Palgrave Handbook of Science and Technology Studies in Education, and am working on two further monographs: 'The University and the Writing Machine' (Bloomsbury), and 'Weave: The Making of Meaning' (Palgrave).
