📆 On 30 April, the TIPS Network was privileged to welcome renowned anti-corruption specialist Phil Mason OBE to discuss two decades of anti-corruption legislation in the UK. 💡 In a 'trip down memory lane', Phil offered unique insights from his time at DFID as to key factors that led to the eventual passing of the UK Bribery Act (despite significant opposition from some quarters). 🛠️ He noted that the UK has many anti-corruption tools in its arsenal (including unexplained wealth orders), and emphasised the need for effective implementation of those tools as opposed to necessarily expanding the anti-corruption toolkit. 🤝 He also advocated for a coordinated cross-Whitehall approach to anti-corruption amid recent changes that have led to anti-corruption strategies being incorporated into a raft of different government initiatives. 🙏 Many thanks to Phil for making the trip to London to join TIPS Network members in person, to Sandra Saadi, CFE (PINKERTON | Comprehensive Risk Management) for introducing and organising the event, and to Joseph Sinclair and Mountford Chambers for kindly hosting this event. #tipsnetworkuk #anticorruption #UKBA #UK #legislation
