📢 EIS roundtables were announced in the 2025 Spring Statement The government has announced a series of roundtables with key members of the EIS ecosystem this April. "The government is determined to ensure that the UK is the best place in the world to start and grow a business and is committed to fostering a positive, dynamic environment for entrepreneurs and scale-ups as a central part of the growth mission." "The government will continue to work with leading entrepreneurs and venture capital firms on how policy supports that, including the role of tax reliefs such as the Enterprise Management Incentives Scheme, the Enterprise Investment Scheme and the Venture Capital Trust Scheme. As part of this, the government will be holding a series of roundtables with key stakeholders over April." The EIS Association welcomes the government’s continued commitment to ensuring the UK is the best place in the world to start and grow a business and will continue to work with the Treasury to ensure the SEIS and EIS are supporting entrepreneurs across the UK in the most impactful way.

EIS Association Director General Christiana Stewart-Lockhart is featured in the landmark 50th issue of GBI Magazine on unlocking the power of EIS and SEIS for clients. “These are crucial government schemes which have facilitated £32billion of investment into 56,000 businesses over the last 30 years." Christiana discussed unlocking the power of EIS and SEIS, including practical strategies for minimising tax burdens, the most valuable tax-saving opportunities, and the impact of recent changes to CGT on tax-efficient investments. Christiana notes that "there are many potential investors who are missing out, largely due to a lack of awareness about the schemes.” One common misconception is that the EIS and SEIS are only for those investing very large sums. Simon Groom, CEO of EIS Association member MagnifyB, was quoted in the GOV.UK announcement that 'small businesses are set to see a boost in exports and growth with new expert panel'. The press release regards a new Board of Trade, unveiled as part of the Government’s plan to support small businesses and boost global exports. “We are delighted to see the Government addressing the critical issue of SME finance.
