Interesting piece on modeling systemic risks within the U.S. banking system by aggregating index data of commercial banks into a network-based model. The model leverages information theory measures (mutual information and transfer entropy) to assess correlations and causative relationships between banks, monitoring for systemic risk through dynamic daily updates. Great global macro model to identify and predict crises' in traditional finance on a macroeconomic scale.
