  • SK Telecom Announces Accountability and Commitment Program SK Telecom acknowledges the findings of the joint public-private investigation and expresses its deep regret regarding the cybersecurity incident. We sincerely apologize to our customers and to society for the inconvenience and concern this incident has caused, and we are committed to taking all necessary steps to ensure this does not happen again. To reiterate its commitment and rebuild customer trust, SK Telecom is announcing the Accountability and Commitment Program, consisting of the Customer Assurance Package, Information Protection Innovation Plan, Customer Appreciation Package and Subscription Cancellation Fee Waiver. The Customer Assurance Package, introduced following the cybersecurity incident, will be enhanced to provide robust protection and prevent harm to SK Telecom customers. SK Telecom remains steadfast in its commitment to taking full responsibility for safeguarding our customers in the aftermath of the incident, continuing this dedication until all concerns are fully addressed. To address cybersecurity concerns and strengthen customer confidence, SK Telecom is launching the Information Protection Innovation Plan, investing KRW 700 billion over the next five years to build a world-class information protection system. This initiative will be guided by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), and will align with the highest cybersecurity standards. SK Telecom aims to lead Korea in cybersecurity by 2028 and establish a globally recognized security system within five years. As a gesture of gratitude for the trust and patience shown by our customers during this challenging time, SK Telecom is also launching the Customer Appreciation Package to acknowledge and thank our customers for their loyalty. Moving forward, SK Telecom remains firmly committed to delivering meaningful value that resonates with all customers and will continue to strive to provide dependable, quality services.

This service marks the first-ever application of 'Passpoint' (technology that enables automatic, secure connection to trusted Wi-Fi networks without manual login) in aviation, enabling seamless connectivity even up at 10,000 feet.     ETSI has released white paper "NFV evolution: Towards the Telco Cloud." This paper outlines how Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) has fundamentally transformed the deployment and operation of telecom networks, and how emerging technologies like cloud-native principles, automation, and AI are shaping the future evolution of NFV. Key Highlights: The Need for NFV Evolution: To support future network generations beyond 5G, such as 6G, new deployment scenarios like virtualized RAN, and the broader digital transformation of networks, NFV must continue to evolve. Principles for NFV Evolution: The white paper introduces key principles guiding NFV's evolution, including simplification, cloud-nativeness, software portability across infrastructure, stable and sustainable evolution, enhanced automation, flexibility, modularization, and scalability. A Rethought Approach: Telco Cloud: A new approach is proposed, "elevating" NFV towards the concept of a platform-oriented Telco Cloud. This framework aims to simplify the integration and functionality of infrastructure, platform, and orchestration for network operators.     What a great press conference I had today! About 40 keen journalists were ready to cover the story of SK Telecom! Talking about our accomplishments and outlining the visionary path ahead, I felt an even stronger responsibility. I am fully committed to taking SK Telecom to greater levels with AI Pyramid Strategy 2.0, and below is a summary of today’s speech. 𝟭. 𝗔𝗜 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 SK Telecom will improve the AI Data Center by establishing "A la carte" format designed to meet the needs of a diverse range of customers. To implement this strategy and penetrate the market, the four major business models ▲AI Cloud GPUaaS Subscription ▲Modular AI DC ▲Dedicated AI DC ▲Hyper-scaled AI DC will be explored to address different customer needs and market segments. Using these models, it will be possible to provide customers with personalized solutions, increasing their satisfaction and engagement. 𝟮. 𝗔𝗜 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 We proudly partner with SK members with enhanced B2B solutions, products and delivery systems. Following the successful launch of A. (A-DoT) in 2023, we will expand our B2B services beyond daily operations to include specialized areas like tax, legal, and HR, while maintaining momentum in the B2C space. A. (A-DoT) has become a leading AI product in South Korea, boasting 8.9 million subscribers and 7.4 million MAU. To further strengthen B2C market position, we will continue to innovate A. and introduce the highly anticipated Global AI agent service, “Aster,” in the U.S., and will expand our business landscape. 𝟯. 𝗔𝗜 𝗥&𝗗 Since 2019, we have been on a mission to develop and improve our own AI model. At the time of this speech, we are in the process of building the A.X 4.0, high-efficiency Korean-specialized LLM with Korean language knowledge performance comparable to the world's top-tier LLMs, while boasting tokenizer efficiency more than 1.5 times higher. In addition, we will be building on the capabilities of SK R&D Center, which was established at the end of 2024, to integrate SK group’s forces and develop the next-gen AI tech to lead the industry. 𝟰. 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 In today’s world, collaboration is essential in the AI industry, which is becoming very competitive. SK Telecom is proactively looking for global partnerships across various industries and our efforts in partnership are growing. We intend to strengthen our partnership with the global telcos: GTAA, global top AI companies such as Perplexity, Lambda, Penguin Solutions, and K-AI Alliance - collaboration with the Korean-based AI companies to develop and apply new technology.   • We are excited to announce our earnings for the fiscal year 2024. In 2024, we saw solid revenue growth in both fixed and mobile communications as well as AI businesses, which led to revenue of KRW 17.9406 trillion and operating income of KRW 1.8234 trillion on a K-IFRS consolidated basis. Particularly, our AI business-related revenue grew by 19% compared to the year before. The AIX business recorded a significant 32.0% YoY growth, driven by the growth of core AI B2B products, such as AI cloud, AI Contact Center (AICC) and Vision AI. Revenue from the AIDC business increased by 13.1% YoY, due to higher operational rates of new data centers, such as the Gasan Data Center in Seoul, South Korea. We plan to actively pursue monetization of AI in 2025, based on our competitive AI technology and services, by building an AI Infrastructure Superhighway and realizing substantial profits from our AI businesses.
