Dai & Tony’s fundraising bus journey around Wales
Donation protected
Dai and Tony are 2 veterans who are undertaking a journey around Wales using public buses, to fund raise on behalf of Blind Veterans and Swansea Veterans Hub.
Tony is 60 years old and is blind, having lost his sight in 2021. Tony also had several of his toes amputated not so long ago and he had to undergo rehabilitation to learn to walk again properly. So to take on a challenge like this being a blind veteran that has only recently learned to walk properly again is a huge feat of both courage and endurance.
Tony is being accompanied by fellow Veteran Dai, who is also a huge inspiration, at 74 years old Dai last year carried a 56lb bag of potatoes on his back and walked from Neath to Swansea to raise money for Swansea Veterans hub.
Tony has been supported by Blind Veterans since 2022 and he joined Swansea Veterans Hub 2 years ago. In appreciation of the support he has been given with his sight loss both practically and socially, Tony wants to give something back.
Dai and Tony are setting off from Swansea on the 19th March, they will be travelling on public buses around the whole of Wales a journey which will take several days and nights. They will be sleeping in tents and carrying all their own gear with them.
Dai and Tony will be due to arrive back in Swansea on the 22nd March at 10am, with all proceeds raised to go to Blind Veterans and Swansea Veterans Hub.
