The implementation of revalidation is dependent on the ability to pass information easily, accurately and securely between relevant people and organisations.
Revalidation requires medical practitioners to maintain a portfolio of information covering the following four core areas:
The PReP system supports Doctors in recording and reflecting on this supporting information, and submitting it to the appraiser prior to the appraisal meeting. The system also facilitates accurate recording of the appraisal outputs (PDP, appraisal statements and appraisal summary).
PReP keeps appraisers up to date with the progress of the Doctors they appraise each year. Appraisers have access to supporting information, PDP and the appropriate appraisal forms.
The Responsible Officer is provided with a dashboard of information with appropriate filters indicating the health of the appraisal process within the organisation. The Responsible Officer also has a selection of tools to support the management of revalidation for Doctors for whom the organisation is their Designated Body.
