As #LabWeek is underway in the U.S., 20 BD associate volunteers have trained for 3-week missions in Rwanda with the Superlabs for Superbugs Program, an initiative that helps combat antimicrobial resistance by training microbiology lab professionals, supporting clinicians, and enhancing surveillance systems in vulnerable areas. This current project, in partnership with the Ministry of Health, Republic of Rwanda and Partners In Health (PIH) will focus on BUTARO HOSPITAL where teams of 3 volunteers will work with staff to identify and address key AMR gap areas and help strengthen its lab systems. The volunteers are a part of the BD Global Public Health Fellows Program, which has positively impacted quality systems and testing capabilities in healthcare systems for more than a decade. #LabWeek2025 #AMR #antimicrobialresistance

🧪🏃♀️ Celebrating Lab Week with a 5K! 🏃♂️🧪 Every day, medical laboratory professionals and pathologists make vital contributions to healthcare and patient advocacy. At BD, we deeply value these health heroes around the world – from those on our team, helping us develop the next generation of innovative solutions, to those in the field, analyzing samples and delivering the results that can make all the difference for providers and their patients. On April 22 and throughout #LabWeek, associates in our headquarters and around the world celebrated this impact by lacing up their sneakers and participating in the BD Specimen Management Lab Week Run 5k to raise awareness and funds to support future laboratory professionals through the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS). It was a fun-filled day of fitness and community spirit!
