Understanding sexual misconduct
We’re inviting all final year students across England to complete a pilot survey on sexual misconduct in higher education, once they’ve completed this year’s National Student Survey.
We’re doing this because we hope to understand:
We know that harassment and sexual misconduct has a big impact on students. One of our responsibilities as a regulator is to ensure that universities and colleges have effective policies to prevent it happening, strong procedures to address it if it occurs, and support for students who experience it.
We know also that it’s a difficult issue. Even with careful planning and student consultation, some of the survey content may be distressing. We’ve included content warnings in key places throughout, you can skip any questions or sections you don't wish to answer, and stop at any time. There are also links to support services, including any provided by your university or college.
Please remember this survey is optional and confidential. Your responses will be kept separate from National Student Survey data and only shared securely in a way that individuals cannot be directly identified.
