Blanche P. Levy Park (College Green)

Blanche P. Levy Park, commonly known as “College Green,” is located in the heart of campus fronting College Hall, Penn’s most historic building. It features rolling green lawns, brick pathways, and a collection of eclectic art. Despite its location in the city, the park has an intimate and relaxed pedestrian feel. Sunlight streaming through mature trees casts long shadows across the green, where students gather for recreation, studying, and events. The park was renovated and dedicated in the late 1970s, some 20 years after the West Philadelphia trolley routes were relocated underground, establishing the site as Penn’s most iconic green space. American elms, white and green ashes, saucer magnolias, sugar maples, flowering cherries, and many other species of trees contribute to the park’s beauty and intimacy.
