Student power is just a click away.

Your students’ union is for students, run by students. We bang on about it a lot but it’s true. This spring’s elections are centred on our Full-Time Officers (paid positions that include membership of the SU Trustee Board) and the majority of our Part-Time Officer roles (voluntary positions representing specific groups of students).

This is your chance to build a Sussex that you want to see and choose who represents you.

What are the elections for?

In spring we elect our Full-Time Officers, Part-Time Officers, Student Trustees and committee members for societies, sports clubs, and student media teams. They represent you within the union and with the university to create Sussex you want to see. This year, in our spring elections we will be electing these positions:

Why should you vote?

About the elections

Your Students’ Union is entirely led by students. We have loads of opportunities throughout the year to vote on the future of your Union.

In autumn we elect our Union Councillors, Student Reps, International Students’ Committee, Sustainability Committee, Postgraduate Officers, and Representatives.

In the spring term we hold an even bigger election where we elect your full-time officers, liberation officers, and student trustees. During this election you’ll see banners over campus, freebies being given out, and loads of election events: Sussex students ❤ democracy.

We also have referendums giving you the chance to vote for which issues the union should be fighting for over the next three years.

You can find out about all the elected roles and what they actually do on our elected roles webpage.
